Structural Engineering
The Department of Structural Engineering deals with issues related to the construction, statics, construction materials and design of hydraulic structures. By providing expert opinions, analyses, and codes and regulations as well as by organising research and development projects, the Department supports the WSV both in new construction projects and in the maintenance of existing structures. The Department of Structural Engineering is in charge of special topics that are of interest to more than one Section. Such topics include e.g. the implementation of new standards for hydraulic structures, risk analyses and reliability studies as well as the development of a maintenance management system for waterway structures.
