Committees and Working Groups
In its various areas of responsibility the BAW represents the requirements of waterways engineering with a body of regulations and standards on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (BMVBS) and the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV) in a large number of national and international bodies. We are involved in standardisation processes in which the regulations for hydraulic structures, elements and construction materials are laid down. Codes, guidelines and standards refer to the international (ISO), European (EN) and national (e.g. DIN) level and to internal administration.
