Projects

The projects imply the investigation of a wide range of hydraulic engineering measures. In the inland area, this includes, for example, optimized solutions for the interaction of control structures (groynes, longitudinal training walls, etc.) and bed load management, hydraulic structures (weirs, locks) and the operation, management and automation of chains of barrages. In the coastal area, the projects deal with extension upgrading measures for the approaches to North Germany's sea ports in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea including solutions for limitations of increasing expenses for dredging. Analyses are carried out to improve navigability, to estimate ship-induced impacts on waterway beds and banks and to design the necessary protection measures. Other projects include the construction and design of special watercrafts for the differing requirements in the inland and coastal areas.
